PENNY'S RANCHCRAFT Western Jeans (1960s)

A pair of 5-pocket jeans from J.C. Penney's store brand "Ranchcraft" with "WESTERN JEANS" on the flasher. The use of a flasher and cam-lock zipper suggests that the production date may be the 1960s.

fabric

Flasher describes it as 13 3/4 ounces of denim, which would have been in the heavy ounce category for the time. The slubby feel is not felt very much and there are few neps, but there are some large scratches in the weave. It is very bluish.
