LEVI'S 505 (BIG E)

This is the successor model 505 to the 551ZXX that uses pre-shrunk fabric, and it is one with the red tab of BIG E. The patch will be stamped with an "S". The East Coast of the United States is said to be a major target.

paper patch

If it's a 501 from BIG E, the fabric used after the part number ("0217") is not there, but 505 has it. Underneath the paper patch is a paper tag with "PRE SHURUNK" written on it. If it was a 501 at the same time, the reinforcement on the bartack on the pocket was written as a selling point, but on the 505 it was not mentioned on the bartack. It can be surmised that the emphasis of PR was more on ease of purchase and wearability due to its non-shrinking nature than on durability.

flasher

The flasher reads "PRE-SHURUNK" in a large font.
Levi's505(BIGE)_guarantee ticket

guarantee ticket

As with the 554ZXX guarantee ticket, "FOR OVER 100 YEARS" is written on the lower half of the ticket, but the contents are different, and the copyright of 1966 is added to the lower left.
Levi's505(BIGE)_back pocket

back pocket

Slightly taller and slightly larger back pocket than the 501. Maybe because the back pocket is a little too big, it doesn't have the uneven arcuate stitching that you see in the 501BIGE.

It is engraved with "14", which is rare for 501's of this period. It's possible that the model was produced in a factory closer to the East Coast, as this was a model that made the East Coast a major market. Since this is the one after the alphabet engraving, there is a strong possibility that the factory is different from the "14" commonly seen in the XX period. Parallel stitching on the side of the top button. The fabric of the waist belt is used horizontally.

The look and feel of the 501BIGE is the same, with a stronger blue tint compared to the XX. The slubby feel is not strong, but it can be felt to some extent. There are few neps.
